Happy Halloween

I want to wish every one a happy Halloween! We have been looking forward to this for a while now and I have one extremely excited little girl. I also have one that has no idea why we insist on putting weird things on her and taking pictures (she's a little pink lady in her poodle skirt!) Anna is a hippy chick complete with custom bell bottoms! I will have pictures up later! We (Michael and Anna) carved pumpkins SCARY! I took pictures. One thing good I can say about this Halloween is we got to wear our PJ's to work today!!!!! I completed my look with minimal makeup and rollers in my hair-talk about scaring people!

I went to the family event last weekend and was so glad to see some old friends! I was nervous about nothing! It really was good to see some old friends. I will admit though the band well sucks (in comparison to its glory days in the 90's) I was also disappointed in the flag corp too.....shame!
I didn't get to got to the actual reunion because I had a Juliet Low Birthday Party/Halloween Carnival to go to for the Girl Scouts. I kind of wished I had gotten to go but next time I will.

I am getting excited about Lauren's baby shower next week! I am so happy for them! I know that she'll be a great mother! She has a good role model to look to for advice. I wish them all the best! I do hope that I will get to see the baby after the empress arrives too.

TO ALL A HAPPY AND SAFE HALLOWEEN!!!!!

  • Michael hurt his back last weekend working out and has been on overtime all week. I have be in agony watching him hurt and knowing there is nothing that I can do about it. I finally convinced him to go to the doctor. I really hope that it's just a pulled muscle and not something serious.
  • We had our Girl Scout investiture ceremony last night and had blast. Scarlet has become our troop's mascot and will be helping us sell cookies this year!!!! I love being a leader and I am growing s much as a mother and a person, I would recommend scouting to anyone.
  • My grandfather had surgery last night and is doing OK. He had an enlarged prostate but all is well now.
  • The family event for my 10 year high school reunion (I assume) is still on for tonight. I am very nervous about it for some reason. I am excited to see old friends again but I am still very nervous. Michael on the other hand thinks that I'll be fine and that it'll be fun for me. He is trying to be supportive and calm my fears. I guess he's right I do have a great life full of friends and family, I have a career and a beautiful home. I am still nervous about it though.
  • My girls are growing up so fast and I just can't stand it.

Family

I was up last night just thinking about how blessed I am. I went and checked in on the girls as they were sleeping and thought about how lucky I am and how wonderful they are. Even though they can stress me out faster than anything else in this world but they bring greater joy than anything else as well. I am going to post some pictures of them just because I love them. They are pretty darn cute too if I say so myself!!!!

I also want to give Thanks to Colleen for her inspirational post about KY and curly hair. I passed the info on to Michael (who has super curly hair) and with a smirk decided to try it out last night. I will let everyone know that stuff is great, his hair looked so good. He was even happy with the way that it was in the morning after he had slept on it. I have included a picture of his hair right after he did all the stuff to it last night.

Ain't he cute!!!!!

HELP NEEDED!!!

To anyone that breastfed I need some help. I have been breast feeding my daughter Scarlet who is now 7 1/2 months old and this weekend she refused my breast and then bit my nipple. Since I returned to work when she was 3 months old my supply has dropped. Recently though it has severely dropped and we have had to supplement with formula. I have visited a lactation consultant, taken herbs, pumped after the nursing and so on and so forth with no success. I have started to come to grips with it emotionally but when this happened this weekend it broke my heart (not to mention hurt like hell). I am going to assume that it is because there is instant gratification with a bottle unlike with a breast, and with my supply problem she might have just gotten frustrated. If anyone has any advice please share it, I am not real sure I am total ready to give it up just yet.

Its Friday!

Yeah! It's Friday! Thank God! I have so much that I want to do this weekend. I made my first batch of baby food on Tuesday and I have so many recipes that I want to try out this weekend and I cannot wait. Scarlet seemed to enjoy the homemade stuff a whole lot better that the store bought stuff.

Anna will be Acolyting for the first time on Sunday and we are all very excited about it. Anna seems to be a little nervous but will not admit it. My mom even bought her some new earrings for the occasion.

Girl scouts is getting easier for me and I am loving every minute of it. I am so excited about everything that I am getting to experience through the GS. Anna has already read the first three sections of her handbook and has kind of taken charge in the troop. I hope that personality trait sticks it will serve her well later in life.

We are getting a new cat in a few days that will make the pet total 6. We have 4 turtles, 1 dog and now 1 cat. I am trying to convince Michael that we need a big dog too. That isn't going so well right now though. We have no fence for our back yard on with our creepy neighbors I don't want to let them just run loose to use the rest room. Maybe when we get an invisible fence next spring we can entertain the big dog idea.
